virt to release FX4 on March 1

A brand new chiptune album from Jake "virt" Kaufman, titled FX4 will be released over at Ubiktune and Bandcamp on March 1.

FX4 is a direct prequel, storywise, to FX3. It concerns the loss of an experimental superweapon at sea, during a future war. Decades later it is recovered by a team of scientists, and restored to working condition. An aircraft which creates space-time anomalies, its use has unforeseen consequences, such as allowing a gay time-travelling vampire (FX3's antihero) to cross into our universe. FX4 is written in FamiTracker using only 2A03 sounds, and contains 9 songs packed with loving detail.

On the next episode of Noise Channel, which will take place tomorrow (February 23), virt and TrueStar will talk about the previous FX albums. If you haven't heard them before or if it's been a long time, tune in on Arecibo Radio and get reacquainted with the music from FXs!

The exclusive pre-release listening party will take place on March 1. Again, virt will join TrueStar on the air and talk about creating FX4 as well as the previous FX albums. Afterwards, FX4 will be played uninterrupted, and at the end of the show, the album will be available for download. All the details are revealed over at the Facebook event page.
